As long as i have been a builder I have mixed mortar the same way for the last 20 plus years, Sand ,water and cement fired into the mixer and let it mix for the desired time, till it is the consistency of clotted cream, beautiful.
That was up until I found a company that mixes the mortar for you!!
They deliver it all for the same price as what it Costs to buy it and you don’t have to mix it!! A massive win win. Its delivered four tubs at a time and each tub holds 4 mixes. If we was to mix that amount over the course of the day with setting the mixer up filling the water barrel up, loading the mixer up with sand etc, letting it mix then washing the mixer out it’s probably an hour / hour and half. So over the course of a week your talking 8 hours! Which frees up your labourer for nearly a whole day. They have been using pre mixed mortar on commercial building sites for years but to find it being used in the private sector is amazing, using pre mixed mortar and profiles for the corners has sky rocketed our production at work. Since covid has been introduced into our life’s people have been at home and not going on holiday etc, so some lucky few are in a position to have extensions done on there house using the money they may have used to go on holiday. We are very busy builders now thanks to this, so finding out about pre mixed mortar and profiles help us work a lot more efficiently and get to the next job much faster.
