Today its all about the new extension we’re building.
Good evening and salutations coming from the bat cave AKA blog update HQ. We are currently sat in the van dodging the storms that have been absolutely rinsing the UK for the past week.
We have been getting stuck into a new extension we’re building , while also finalising aspects of the last build at the same time. The turn around on this lovey little job has been impressive even to us; we’ve managed to get the job up to pan height all the way around in four days.
The problem is the weather.
The UK has been getting battered by numerous storms back to back. This has naturally had a knock on effect on the jobs progress, losing a day or two here and there. The fact that we’re quick generally speaking is a saving grace. If we were on the slower side as a company then these delays would be a lot more significant, given that there doesn’t seem to be any end in sight for the storms.
Even now the rain is firing down forcing us to take shelter from it. There’s also the issue of the tools getting wet and damaged when we try to persevere. You end up in a situation where any decent bit of plastic wrapping is getting used to cover extension cables and chargers.
We have a running joke here at CGB that the boss always manages to find some indoor work when the weather is bad but, it hasn’t been the case this time! We’re at roof height on the scaffolding in the great outdoors, putting the timber roof on this extension in Normanton.
So, in summary we’re still cracking on despite the adverse conditions, layin’ bricks and cashin’ cheques. The jobs must continue and peoples homes and dwellings need to be protected from the elements more than ever.
